I had the scan in January and I did not want to know. Not because I expected it to be terrible, but because I've spent twenty years treating my body as a problem to be deferred.
The coach sent the review to my email with one line: "Whenever you're ready, and there's no wrong month to read it."
He didn't call. He didn't send a reminder. He didn't do the thing where a message pretends to be casual but is really a nudge.
I read it in March. Two months late. When I finally opened it, the page started with what had moved well, not with what hadn't, and the first sentence was short enough that I got through it before my chest tightened.
I don't know how you design that. Some of it is the coach's temperament. A lot of it is that the document is short and written in words I'd use, so it doesn't feel like being audited.
The other thing that helped: it didn't ask me for anything. No action items, no deadline. A page about my year and a name at the bottom.
I'm now the person who reads it in the car park. That took eighteen months and no pressure at all.
MOJOWAY's reviews are written to be readable by someone who is avoiding them, which is most people at some point.
