My daughter printed it for the fridge

I'm not sentimental about fitness. I don't post anything, I don't take before photos, I find the whole genre a bit embarrassing.

My daughter found the review page in my bag, asked what it was, and then asked if she could put it on the fridge. I said sure, not really thinking.

She put it up next to her spelling test. It stayed there through two seasons of school photos.

The thing that got me was that she could read it. Not the numbers, the sentences. "Your back is stronger than last time." "You can carry the shopping in one trip now." Somebody had written a page a ten-year-old could understand, about her mother.

I've had reports full of arrows and percentiles that would have meant nothing to her. This one had words, and the words were about our actual life.

I've since noticed she asks about my sessions now, which she never did before. She has a stake, because the page is comprehensible and it's on the fridge.

I don't think studios think about the household at all. They write for the client, in language built for a professional, and the rest of the family files it as exercise admin.

MOJOWAY's page is written so the person who reads it might be ten, which is the same standard as writing it for an adult who is tired.
