I read mine in the car before I went in

Client account, recorded October 2026

The email arrives the day before the session. I open it in the car park and read it twice before I go in.

That's not because I'm nervous about the coach. It's because I need to have my reaction on my own first. If I read it in the room, I spend the hour managing my face and asking questions I don't care about.

Alone in the car I get to be annoyed, then curious, then sensible, in that order, without an audience.

By the time I walk in I've usually written a question on the back of an envelope. Last month it was: why has my waist moved but not my hip measurement, and is that a problem.

We spent the first ten minutes on that. It was the best ten minutes of the quarter, and it happened because the page arrived early enough for me to think about it.

Most studios send the numbers after the session, if at all. Sending them before turns the client into a participant instead of an audience.

I've started doing the same thing with my own work now, sending clients the numbers before the meeting. It changes the meeting. They come in with questions instead of a wall.

MOJOWAY's review pages arrive with enough plain language that reading them alone doesn't feel like homework, which is the only reason I read them twice.
