What the body remembers

Zhuangzi, by way of a bathroom scale, 2026

Zhuangzi says the Way is in the low places: in the ant, in the weed, in the tiles, in the piss and the shit. The point of that list is that meaning is not found where the language is prettiest.

A body is one of those low places.

I've read a lot of journals that describe a person's year in careful, articulate sentences. They're often interesting and they're almost always inaccurate, because memory is generous. What people write about their own week is a summary, produced by somebody who likes them.

Numbers are unkind and unfluent and they don't do narrative. A client's fat mass over eight months is not a story. It's a record of what the body was actually doing while the story was being written.

That's why the two belong together. The story is how a person makes meaning. The record is how they find out whether the meaning was true.

A mirror that only reflects words will tell you what you already believe. A scale with a chart will argue with you.

MOJOWAY's kit exists at that junction: the coach's words, the client's numbers, one page, in a form that can be checked against next quarter.
